Jesus's Family Tree

Teach children about Jesus’ family tree, a tree that tells the Old Testament history leading up to Jesus’ birth and about our salvation story. We sometimes call this family tree the Jesse Tree, named after one of Jesus’ very faithful ancestors. The branches of the Jesse Tree stretch all the way back to the garden of Eden, and in those branches you’ll find familiar names like David and Ruth, Abraham and Jacob. When God sent Jesus to be a child in Bethlehem, we were made a part of the great, growing family tree, too.
